Stallions finish season 42-21

The 2009 season is in the books for the Great Falls Stallions.

The Class AA Stallions of manager Mike Ferradas finished the year with an overall record of 42-21. The team was 13-11 in Western AA play and failed to qualify for the Montana-Alberta State AA tournament.

The Stallions enjoyed many fine moments in 2009, including a championship at the Rich Hinseth Tournament in Rapid City, S.D. The Great Falls team also traveled to Omaha, Neb., for a tournament and attended a game at the College World Series.

Though the Stallions failed to earn a berth in the State AA tournament, the team defeated three eventual state champions during the summer of 2009. Teams from Rapid City Post 22, Albuquerque, N.M., and Billings (Scarlets) all won state crowns, and all were beaten during regular-season play by the Stallions.

The Stallions' organization thanks coaches, players, parents, sponsors and fans for a successful 2009 season.
